Paula (and later Greta) were the names
of what collectors call “Spanish
Lilli.”
They
were initially made by a Spanish
company, FEJ, very likely under a
license from Lilli’s manufacturer in
Germany.
They were available in Spain from
circa 1957 to the mid-1960’s.
They are distinguished by a twist
waist, green eyeshadow, and white
painted earrings.
The clothing is often glued and/or
sewn onto the body.
Otherwise, they are nearly-identical
to Bild Lillis in both construction
and quality.
At some point, probably in the early
1960’s, the name was changed from
"Paula" to "Greta".
