PULCINELLAONE-OF-A-KIND CENTERPIECE DOLL
(2011)From the very first Italian Doll Convention produced byMagia2000 and Artist Creations in 2011 in Milan. The doll was designed and made by Nikki Fabbrocile,a noted doll artist from Milan. There were 10 tables at the final banquet of the convention, and each centerpiece doll represented a different major city in Italy. This centerpiece doll represents NAPLES, and what Naples is famous for -- pizza, Pulcinella, and cornicelli (Italian horns)! There are 11 cornicelli (which resemble chili peppers),which is a good-luck amulet to bring good fortune to its wearerand protection against evil forces. The cornicello horn shape is linked to ancient phallic symbolsthat represent fertility, power, and prosperity. There are 5 small pizzas (pizzetas) in various places,as well as 3 pizza slices.Even the stand has been reworked to look like a pizza. The corset is white-and-red vinyl with a zippered back and trimmed in gold chain. The doll has 6 gold bangle bracelets, pastry paper along her left arm,a black and red lace choker which matches the garter trim on the skin-tight leather boots -- mask, hat, etc.She is an homage to Pulcinella (Punchinello in English),who is a beloved Neapolitan character that originated in the Commedia dell'Arte of the 17th Century --good but selfish, unpredictable and funny, always in trouble, but able to manage every situation thanks to his slyness!Mint....$495.00PHOTO PHOTO PHOTO PHOTOPHOTO PHOTO PHOTO PHOTO
